This quick check is a guide only and not a guarantee of eligibility. Your options are confirmed after we review your accident.
What actually makes you eligible
Behind the quiz, eligibility comes down to four practical questions. Tick these and you're very likely in:
- Fault: the accident was fully or mostly the other driver's doing
- Identification: you have the at-fault driver's details: name, rego and insurer; a lodged claim number is the gold standard
- Need: you genuinely need a vehicle, repairs or both
- Location: the accident happened in NSW
The honest fine print
Eligibility is confirmed by a person, not a web page. Our specialists review your accident before anything is agreed, and our services are provided under our Terms. If your situation doesn't qualify, we'll tell you straight and point you in the right direction anyway.
Get a definitive answerCommon situations: where you likely stand
Every accident is different, but these patterns come up every week:
I was rear-ended
The classic not-at-fault accident: the following driver is usually liable. Collect their full details (name, rego, insurer, ideally a claim number) and you're most of the way there.
Rear-end fault explainedMy parked car was hit
You can't be at fault while legally parked. If the driver left their details (or a witness collected them for you) you're typically covered. A rego glimpsed on CCTV alone is a harder road, so call us early.
First steps checklistI don't have comprehensive insurance
Not a problem. Your claim targets the at-fault driver's insurer, not your own policy. Being uninsured doesn't take away that right.
No-insurance optionsThe other driver blames me
Disputed fault isn't the end. Evidence decides it. Dashcam, photos, witnesses and the road rules often settle the argument in your favour.
Handling disputesThe at-fault driver is uninsured
Recovery has to target the driver personally, which is slower and less certain. We'll give you an honest read before you commit to anything.
Uninsured driver optionsI might be partly at fault
Shared fault changes the maths. It depends on the split and the losses. Don't guess: the facts of your accident decide it, so talk it through with us.
How fault is decidedEligibility questions
Is the 60-second check binding?
No. It's an instant guide based on your answers, nothing more. Actual eligibility is confirmed by our team once we review the accident details, before any service starts.
What details do you need to confirm eligibility?
The essentials: when and where the accident happened, how it happened, and the at-fault driver's details, name, registration and insurer, plus the claim number if they've lodged one. The more complete the kit, the faster we can move. Our details checklist covers what to collect.
Do I need a police report to be eligible?
Not always. Plenty of eligible claims have no police involvement. A police event number strengthens disputed cases, and some accidents must be reported by law. When it matters for yours, we'll tell you.
What does checking cost me?
Nothing. The quiz and the phone assessment are both no-obligation. Costs only ever attach to services you agree to in writing, and for eligible not-at-fault customers those are recovered from the at-fault insurer.
I'm still not sure the accident was their fault. Should I bother calling?
Yes, genuinely. Fault is a legal question decided by evidence and road rules, not by who felt guiltier at the scene. Five minutes with us beats weeks of wondering. See how fault is determined.
